METER is seeking a Process Control Engineer to help support clients in the food production industry that are using METER's novel data management system to make data driven decisions. The ideal successful candidate will have a strong engineering background (chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or similar field) as well as significant process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering experience in a factory setting (food production industry preferred). Applicant must have the ability to measure and communicate project return on investment to clients for phased expansion of services.

This is a multi-faceted role which includes acting as a presales engineer working in tandem with METER's Sales Team as well as managing the relationship with the customer after the sale. This pivotal role includes significant travel on company aircraft with some travel on commercial airlines.

  • Act as a pre-sales engineer and work in tandem with the Sales Team to provide high-level application support for the SKALA system to both clients and Sales Team. 
  • As a member of the Professional Services Team, manage the relationship with the client post sale including installing the SKALA system, connecting the clients' systems and devices in food manufacturing plants and troubleshooting issues, interfacing with their in-house IT to troubleshoot IT or firewall issues, etc.
  • Create meaningful process flow diagrams and identify areas of improvement based upon business impact, project scope, and return on investment.
  • Act as a liaison between METER's development teams and the client to identify bugs and implement solutions. 
  • Understand client needs and match those needs with the features of SKALA and other METER products that will add value to the client's manufacturing process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar engineering field.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a process control engineer or similar manufacturing/process engineering role.
  • Strong manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering experience in a factory (food industry preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including presentation and speaking ability.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to food manufacturing plants across the United States. 
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to relocate to Pullman, WA.
  • Strong professional references.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting experience with electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering role in a food production environment (process, manufacturing, industrial, etc.).
